At this site you can read all about the Institute of Sathya Sai Education, and its activities. The function of the institute is to provide a centre of training in Sathya Sai Educare for teachers, students, parents, and educators. It has a prime goal of setting up a model Sai School. This is a major project. The Institute is dedicated to free education, so funding is a major obstacle to overcome. A start has been made with the Sathya Sai pre-school - Rongomai, in Otara. Education in this country is of a high standard, but often fails to produce individuals of character as they have not been made aware of the inherent Universal Values that can provide them with a compass to guide them through the rocks and whirlpools of life. This "Values- Oriented" compass enables them to find lasting happiness and fulfilment. Understanding and living the values brings out the ' 'inherent goodness, and blossoms as human excellence. In this website you will be able to find out what we mean when we refer to " Education in Human Values ", and how they are taught.

Educators all over the world are concerned at the plummeting standards of behaviour, the rising crime rate, youth suicides, substance abuse, and the increasing breaking up of the family unit. See the article about the need for EDUCARE.

A New Zealand Ministry of Education officer given the task of raising the standard of education in South Auckland, addressing a meeting at a school put it succinctly with a graph representing behaviour patterns in schools. He said, “Twenty years ago, behaviour standards were up here; today they are down here. If we cannot reverse this trend, we  have no idea where they will finish up.” If we cannot reverse this trend, we have no idea where they will finish up.”

We believe the answer lies in drawing the inherent Human Values, which are their birthright, from the children. This is done through positive reinforcement, structure, and example. We believe the answer lies in the values held in the mind. The body does nothing by itself. It responds to the thoughts and impulses in the mind.

What changes the innocent pure young child, into a teenage substance abuser, petty thief, selfish uncaring indivual, or suicide victim? A growing weight of opinion, including UNESCO and leading educators throughout the world, believe the answer lies in the values taught to, and practiced by the children.The question arises: what are the values and how do we teach them?

The Sathya Sai Educare Programme has proven itself internationally as being able to produce children blossoming into individuals manifesting human excellence. Children are inherently good. It is our task as teachers to nurture that inherent goodness.
