Why Would I Choose to Use Educare?

Educare is designed to lighten your load, NOT add to it. Wonderful news!!! Educare will fit in with your current curriculum - it is not an addition or a system that will take hours to incorporate into your current lesson plan. Educare works in conjunction with the lesson plan(s) you are currently using.

Is This Style of Teaching Being Used In Any Classroom Situation At the Moment?

A working example of this style of teaching being incorporated into everyday classroom activities is at Sathya Sai Rongomai Pre School.

It doesn't just stop at the Pre-School level; teachers from the Primary and Secondary sector have also found Educare beneficial and rewarding for both themselves and their students. Educare is an easy and adaptable teaching technique - it is all about delivery and teaching from heart to heart. Does that sound too airy fairy to you? Do not be tempted to dismiss it as light-hearted and of no consequence, or a teaching method that is designed for pre-schools or junior school pupils. It is a commonsense style of teaching that enriches your teaching experience and the learning experience of the pupils at all levels, including adult students. To coin modern catch phrases – it is “win-win, no sweat style of teaching”.

What Techniques Are Used?

Nothing is a hard and fast rule, the lesson depends on the age of the students and how the group learns – get to know your students so you are able to communicate freely and effectively.

Effective communication is not just the interaction between you and your students, it also includes inter-personal communication with yourself. The only additional effort that may be required is spending a little time at the end of the day on self-evaluation. But even this is as easy as asking yourself how your lesson went and if there was any way you could improve your performance. Yes, Educare is as much about the teacher learning as it is the pupils being taught.

A true growing experience!

So How Does This Work?

By relaxing and enjoying the experience then laughter, fun, playfulness and participation are drawn into the lesson. In turn this captures the student's attention, encourages retention of information and stimulates their imagination. Communication is the name of the game and the basis of the programme.

What Do I Need To Do?

Yourself , your students and your lesson plan – there is no need for any special tools, extra books or additional expenditure on new resources. Does this sound too easy? It really is very simple. This is a technique not a new lesson.
